Moscow Handle with Snow and rain Again
Started yesterday heavy snowfall brought for many people look of Winter Fairy tale on Moscow streets, but at the same time it caused almost collapse on the roads with many miles of traffic jams on main highways and small streets as well due huge amount of snow that fell during the past 24 hours. It is already fell about 20-25 sm of snow cover today and forecast expect increasing the snow cover to half meter due the snowfall not stopping yet. In spite of all they say that it may repeat a cold freezing rain that happened in December 2010 and several thousand of trees were knocked down due heavy snow and ice on them, and also were broken electric power supply (wires).People who came at these days to capital of Russia by air can feel as anybody the negative circumstances of upcoming winter stucking in traffic from / to airports or waiting delayed flights due nasty weather. From other side, snow, wind and cold temperatures will make air in the capital fresh and clean, so walks on Moscow streets can be good for sure, just be carefull – it is slippery!
I am just worry about tomorrow, me repeat clients from Euromoney company (London, UK) have full day of important business meetings and at the end of the day we have to drive to Sheremetyevo airport, hope to be on time everywhere and their flights will not be cancelled due the blizzard or freezing rain…
