The five-tier iconostasis of the Assumption Cathedral in Goritsky monastery was finished in 1759 and became the main declaration of the recently built temple. The outstanding carving with sculptures of angels for this iconostasis (also iconostas or icon screen), the high screen decorated with icons that divide the sanctuary from the nave of an Eastern Orthodox Church, was created by masters from Moscow artel of Yakov Zhukov. The beautiful icons that were adorned the iconostas are the piece of art that belongs to artists from icon workshops of the New-Jerusalem monastery in Istra.
