The Cathedral Church of the Holy Igor of Chernigov in Peredelkino
The idea of building a large church next to the Patriarch's residence belonged to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II. In 2005, he approved the project and approved the decision to consecrate a temple in honor of St. Grand Prince Igor of Chernigov and Kiev.
Peredelkino is the prosperous little village of colorful dachas just half an hour drive South-West from the Moscow city center. In 1934, by the suggestion of Maxim Gorky, Peredelkino became the settlement of the famous Soviet Writers treated personally by the Leader of USSR, Joseph Stalin.
