Magnificent Interior of Resurrection Church in Sretensky Monastery

The magnificent interior of the new Church of the Resurrection of Christ and the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church. It was built on the grounds of the Sretensky monastery in Moscow in 2014-2017. The church designed in a combination of the modern Russian and ancient Byzantine styles can accommodate about 2000 worshipers. On its walls are paintings with the faces of the new martyrs. The apse (area of the altar) depicts the Last Supper, where both the apostles and the new martyrs are present. The marble iconostasis is made low (just one tier) in the Byzantine style. Beautiful big and light wheel-shaped church chandelier (panikadilo) made in the most ancient Byzantium style called “khoros” (Greek).
