During the planning stage, several types of bridges were proposed, and the final didn’t disappoint. The main feature of Zhivopisny Bridge is of course its huge arch that supports the whole structure.

Floral Ornaments in Tsarina’s Chambers

The beautiful floral ornaments with images of flowers and plants were painted in 17th century on the walls and ceilings of Tsarina’s Chambers in Savva-Storozhevsky monastery by prominent artists from Armory Chambers of Moscow Kremlin. In 17th century the famous monastery in Zvenigorod became a favorite place of pilgrimage for royal family and the residence for Tsarina was built in 1650-1652 on its grounds to accommodate the first wife of Tsar Alexis (Aleksey Mikhailovich, the father of Peter the Great) during her visits.
