Southeastern Corner of Archangel’s Cathedral
«Southeastern Corner of Archangel’s Cathedral»

View from Taynitsky Garden on the southeastern corner of Archangel’s Cathedral of Moscow Kremlin framed by trees in summer. It is the burial church of Muscovite princes and first tsars of Russia dedicated to the Archangel Michael, heavenly patron of the Russian army. The Cathedral was erected in 1505-1508 under the supervision of Aleviz Noviy (The New), the prominent Italian architect from Venice, who was invited to Moscow by Grand Prince of Moscow Ivan III (The Great). Cathedral of Annunciation, the private church of Russian grand princes and tsars, with its beautiful golden onion-shaped domes is in the background of the picture.

Photo #031 taken on June 27 2019 during a tour of Moscow Kremlin with my Dear clients from USA, Dean McCauley.
