Red Fountains at Square of Victors at Twilight
«Red Fountains at Square of Victors at Twilight»

Impressive red illuminated fountains in front of the main Obelisk Pobedy (Victory Obelisk) on the Square of Victors at Poklannaya Hill (Victory Park) at spring twilight. The red fountains symbolize the unthinkable amount of blood that had been shed by Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945. The memorial complex “Victory Park” on Poklonnaya Hill was built in 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The bottom of the 141,8 meter Victory Obelisk with a sculpture of St. George the Victorious slaying the dragon with broken swastikas on its wings representing here Nazi Germany and the building of Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War are in the background of the picture.
