Moskva Prazdnichnaya

Moskva Prazdnichnaya
«Moskva Prazdnichnaya»

A watercolor painting by V. Sokolov “Moskva Prazdnichnaya” (Festive Moscow), made in 2013.

The colorful towers and cupolas of St. Basil’s cathedral in the foreground, combined with Kremlin towers, including the famous Savior tower with clock (at the right upper corner), the tricolor flag of Russian Federation, and the former symbol (hammer and sickle) of the Soviet Union. The airship has «УРА» (Rus: URA, Eng: HURRAH) written on it, expressing happiness, while powerful light beams of projectors give a really festive atmosphere to this picture combining different epochs on one canvas.

The interesting painting was acquired in one of shops at Old Arbat street by my Dear client and friend from the USA, Johnny Weir. A great gift for the upcoming winter holidays!
