The Inner Surface of Tent Roof Cupola of the Intercession Church
Ancient frescoes on the inner surface of the tent roof cupola (dome) of the Ivan the Terrible’s private church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, the monument of architecture of the 16th-17th centuries. The unique frescoes are masterpieces of icon painting that have no analogues in Russian monumental art.
From within the sanctuary of the Intercession Church, the Tsar prayed earnestly under the cupola (dome) and contemplated the fate of Russia.
