Portrait of first Russian tsar was created by E.I. Bryagin in Moscow in 1935: Wooden panel, gesso ground, tempera.

Ivan The Terrible (Ivan IV) (1533-1584) was initiator of construction of the Intersession Cathedral to commemorate the victory of Russian army over the Kazan Khanate (part of Tatar and Mongol Kingdom called "Golden Horde") in 1552.

Photo #026 taken on February 04, 2012 during a tour into St. Basil's cathedral with my Dear Clients from Holland on a first day of testing my new Nikon D700 camera (first shots).
