«Smiling Sun – The Symbol of Maslenitsa and Upcoming Spring»

The topper of a fir tree in the form of a sun with colorful ribbons in the background of Nikolskaya tower of Moscow Kremlin in the twilight. During Maslenitsa (pancake week), instead of new year toppers, fir trees decorated with suns, the symbol of the ancient Russian holiday and upcoming spring. Christmas balls and new year decorations replaced with festive colored ribbons, little suns, bagels, and rag dolls.
