Memory photo of my dear clients from USA, Jeffrie and Harry van Loveren in front of the gilded entrance gates of Granovitaya Palata (Faceted Chamber) served as the official throne room for Grand Princes of Moscow and Russian Tsars. It was built in the reign of Ivan III The Great in 1487-1491 by design of the Italian architects Marco Ruffo and Pietro Salari. Many centuries ago, the Granovitaya Chamber was the seat of the Boyar Duma. It also hosted Nad Assemblies, official receptions and celebrations in honor of victorious military leaders. Following the coronation, Russian rules and their spouses would throw a royal dinner at the Faceted Chamber for the nobility and commoners alike. The Granovitaya Chamber is still used in accordance with its original intent. The President of Russia hosts dinners here in honor of visiting foreign heads of state.
