Night view from Big Moskvoretsky Bridge on impressive high-rise apartment building lacted at Kotelnicheskaya Embankment of Moskva-Reka (Moscow River). It is one of the famous Seven Skyscrapers built during Stalin times after The Great Patriotic War (WWII) from 1947 to 1953. Stalin's high-rises (Stalinskie Vysotki) in Moscow were designed in the Stalin architecture (Stalin's Empire style), neoclassical style prevailing in the 1940s and '50s, in an elaborate combination of Russian Baroque and Gothic styles and the technology used in building American skyscrapers.
The apartment high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment was designed by architects Dmitry Chechylin (then Chief Architect of Moscow) and Andrei Rostkovsky. It was laid down at the same day with all over six Stalin skyscrapers, when Moscow city celebrated its 800th anniversary in September, 1947, and completed in 1952. Main tower with spire has 32 levels and is 176 meters (580 feet) tall.
