The Lights are On

Prior to the commencement of the 2015 “Circle of Light” Annual International Festival, we can see the “Friendship of Nations” fountain where16 gilded statues of women symbolize the republics of the Soviet Union prior to 1956. Standing in the foreground of the impressive “House of Nations” building at Pavilion #1 of the VDNKh (Soviet Union) Exhibition Centre (founded in 1939), the statue is lit up as dusk sets in. This year the Festival of Light celebrates its 5th anniversary.
