The New Armata Heavy IFV Drive Along Tverskaya Street
The new Russian infantry fighting vehicle “Armata” drive on Tverskaya street passing Triumphal Square with monument to Soviet poet Mayakovsky in background. In couple of hours it will participate in the second evening rehearsal for a May 9 Victory Parade 2015 dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Great Victory over Nazi Germany. This type of the modern military hardware have been top secret project which development commenced in 2011and never before shown on public.
The Armata is a new Russian heavy IFV with industrial designation "Object 149", some sources refer it as T-15. Few technical features that can be found now: armament of the main gun - 30-mm; crew – 2 men; weight about 40 tons; accommodates 6 to 8 dismounts (troops egress and dismount via rear doors).
