The majestic Peterhof Palace and Gardens are located just outside St. Petersburg. It was founded by Peter the Great (hence the name, which means Peter's court in German) as early as 1714 after his trip to Europe. He was quite impressed after seen Versailles in France and decided to create the magnificent palaces and gardens with fountains on the Russian land.

Decoration of St. Euthymius’ Side Chapel

Narrow windows, church chandelier (panikadilo) and beautiful medieval frescoes on the walls are all a part of interior of the side-chapel of the Transfiguration Cathedral (1594), the main church on the grounds of the St. Euthymius monastery of Our Savior.
