Hovercraft on the Frozen Moscow River

View from the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge on the frozen Moscow River when the temperature dropped to minus 12 degrees Celsius (10 degrees Fahrenheit). The hovercraft on the river moved with incredible speed, especially in comparison to the slowly moving cars on the roads along the river. The heavy traffic was caused by the harsh weather conditions and the increased business activity in the center of Moscow toward the end of the year. On the background of the picture you can see an impressive Cathedral of Christ the Savior, one of towers of Moscow Kremlin with star, and the chimneys of the working heating plant.
