Bell Tower of the Church of St. George in Kolomenskoye in Winter

Beautiful winterscape of Kolomeskoye Eatate with the 16th century Bell Tower of the Church of St. George in the middle of the composition.

The beautiful bell tower was built by design of Italian architect in the early sixteenth century. This is a great duplex tower. Its walls are false arches, corbel arches and pilasters. The very same building is a shining example of bell buildings of past centuries.

In the XVII century the bell tower was rebuilt in the Church of St. George, to it was added the refectory. In the beginning of XX century architect Baranovsky restored and reconstructed tower, returning to its original appearance.
