Khodynka Field

A new modern urban park "Khodynskoe field" (Khodynskoye pole) was created in 2018 from scratch, on the site of the former airfield. The first Moscow airport was located on this territory, and the first regular flight between Russia and Europe — Moscow-Berlin — was made from the Khodynka field. The Aviation theme is visible in the park, at the playgrounds, as well as on the Central Square, the runway was retained. Different areas of the park were called terminals, as in airports. One century ago, before the Soviet revolution, Major constructions were situated on the field including the 19th-century military barracks and the Botkin Hospital, the largest in Moscow at the time of its inauguration in 1910. In Soviet times, Victory parade rehearsals were provided in 1970-90s in Khodynka area.
