Snow Covered Steps with Balustrade in Colonnade

The Colonnade is the latest monumental construction on the territory of Arkhangelskoye Estate constructed in 1909-1916. On the picture is shown the stone steps with balustrade covered with snow in winter holidays in center of the architectural ensemble of the Colonnade. The steps lead a visitor of Arkhangelskoye to the church of St. Nicholas combined with burial vault of princes Yusupovs. The unfinished church and mausoleum for the Yusupov family were never used because of Soviet revolution happened soon and Arkhangelskoye Estate were nationalized by Bolsheviks.
