St. Basil’s Cathedral (Pokrovsky Sobor) is easily one of the most well-known sights in Moscow, and one of the most distinctive churches in the world. So unique, so beautiful, it is a delightful array of swirling colors and red brick towers. Its design comprises nine individual chapels, each topped with a unique onion dome and each commemorating a victorious assault on the city of Kazan.

Light installation with actual size model of the rocket of Yury Gagarin “Vostok-1” (East One) in front of pavilion Cosmos (Space) at VDNKh (former Soviet Union exhibition center) during the 5th International Festival “Circle of Light”. On April 12, 1961, the 27-year-old Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin provided the first manned space flight on this rocket launching into space with his famously uttered “Poehali!” (Let's go!).
