In 1990s, the side of the Vernisazh craft market, adjacent to the pond, was surrounded by a high and mighty medieval-style wooden fence and towers. Location of the Izmailovo Kremlin on the high hill, surrounded with these mighty fence and towers, serves as a remembrance of the former grandeur of tsar’s residence.

Tree-Lined Alley Walk to the Church

Impressive view on the cobblestone walk way between the lines of deciduous tall trees in Arkhangelskoye Estate to the beautiful church of Archangel Michael (1667) that showing off in the distance. The first wooden temple dedicated to Archangel Michael was appeared at this site in 16th century and gave the name to the local village that became later the Russian Versailles.
