Top of the Wheat-Shaped Street Light

Founded as Agriculture Exhibition of Soviet-Union in 1939, VDNKh became a monumental paean to the achievements of collectivization, industrialization, science, space program and culture of the country. Besides monumental buildings, sculptures and fountains, here even street lamps designed in the shape of a wheat reminds visitors about the great epoch of agricultural collectivization started from early 1930s when over 91% of agricultural land was "collectivized".
