Golden Spike Fountain
The fountain designed and constructed on the grounds of VDNKh in 1950-1954 in the form of a wheatear is covered with mosaic and symbolizes fertility. For many years since the 1990s, the fountain "Golden Spike" did not work due to poor technical condition. In 2016, it was covered for restoration works, and on July 15, 2018, the launch of the renewed fountain took place. The total height of the fountain is 16 meters. It consists of 66 water jets, 30 of which are 25 meters tall.
The fountain is decorated with golden smalt from opaque colored glass. The renovators managed to restore and decorated with this material about 85 percent of the sculptural elements.
