In Between Beautiful Towers
The Intersession Cathedral on the Moat (St. Basil's Cathedral) was built by order of the first Russian tsar Ivan The Terrible (Ivan IV) to commemorate the victory of Russian army in 1552 over the Kazan Khanate (part of Tatar and Mongol Kingdom "Golden Horde").

Style of Design: Russian Architecture with tent roof and onion domes
Architect: Postnik Yakovlev
Years of Construction: 1555-1561
Status: Museum, part of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square UNESCO World Heritage Site
