Beautiful Mosaic Interior of Prohorovs Chapel

The interior walls and vaults of a small burial chapel of the Prohorov family adorned with beautiful mosaic showing images of Christ the Savior, Angels and Saints.

The chapel was built in 1911 on money of Nikolay Prohorov, son of Ivan Prohorov, the owner of Trehgornaya textile manufacture as burial vault of members of his family in necropolis of Novodevichy convent. It stands near in front of the main church of the convent, Smolensky cathedral.
