«Resurrection Gates of Kitai-Gorod»

Beautiful Resurrection Gates from North-Western side of Red Square were erected in 16th and rebuilt in 17-18th centuries as a part of protection of Kitai-Gorod area. They were destroyed in 1931 and reconstructed anew in 1994-1996. The 19th century building of State Historical museum is located to the left from this gate.

Cathedral of Christ the Savior Framed by Flowers in Spring

View from Soymonovsky passage on the blossoming lilac and red tulips at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in a nice sunny and warm spring day. It is the largest Orthodox cathedral in Russia built in the 19th century to gratify God for saving Russia from Napoleon’s army invasion.
