Cityscape from the Citadel of Moscow
The Moscow Kremlin is a citadel in the historical center of Moscow city situated on hilltop of Borovitsky Hill. It is the sacred heart of religion in Russia, and a treasury of art and precious artifacts, the former residence of Princes of Moscow, Russian tsars, Soviet leaders and in present time the official residence of the President of Russia. The fortress is standing on the bank of Moskva (Moscow) River and surrounded by beautiful and mighty walls and towers built in brick at the end of 15th century by design of Italian architects. The total length of the walls is about 2,2 km (1,5 mi).
