Golden Domes of Dormition Cathedral Framed by Golden Trees
«Golden Domes of Dormition Cathedral Framed by Golden Trees»

View from Ivan the Great (Ivanovskaya) Square on the top of majestic Dormition (Assumption) Cathedral with its beautiful gilded cupolas framed by yellow trees against a blue sky in the golden Autumn season. The five bulbous domes topped with Orthodox crosses symbolize Jesus Christ (in the center) and the Four Evangelists (in the corners) of the church. The remarkable harmonious Dormition (Assumption) Cathedral was built in stone in 1475-1479 based on the model of the Dormition Cathedral of Vladimir by design of Italian artisan Aristotle Fioravanti.
