GUM
The eastern part of Red Square is occupied by the building of GUM, which is the abbreviation for the State Department Store in Russian. Some time ago this shopping mall was one of the largest in Europe. Originally, before revolution, it was called Upper Trade Rows (Verkhnie Torgovye Ryady).
