Holy Spring-Font of St. Savva

At the confluence of the Storozhka River and the river Moskva (Moscow) it is located the holy spring of St. Savva (St. Sabbas), about seven hundred meters down a high hill from the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, right near a skit (hermitage) of the disciple of St. Sergius of Radonezh. Above the spring stands wooden house-chapel with a font about the spring. The water temperature in the font - even on very warm days - is about 4 degrees. By tradition, people (believers) dip with their head tree times respecting the Holy Trinity and many don’t dry themselves with towels after the religious ritual even during winter season.
