Dormition Church

The Church of the Dormition (Assumption) of Our Lady is a warm (winter) side-chapel in the Resurrection Cathedral. Its entrance is located on the north side of the cathedral. It was consecrated by Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia Nikon in 1664. The side-chapel has the biggest in the monastery ceramic iconostasis covered with beautiful glazed tiles.

The main holy relic of the church is an ark with a part of the relics of St. Mc. Tatiana, the gift of Tsarevna Tatyana Mikhailovna, sister of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov.
