The Portal into a New Year Fairy Tale
This gigantic New Year’s light ball was installed in Manezhnaya Square—the historical center of Moscow, near the Kremlin and Red Square—during the 2015-2016 winter holidays. It is even bigger than last year’s, with a height equal to a five-story building, and is lit with about 23,000 tiny light bulbs. At 17 meters high, the ball may qualify to claim a record in the Guinness Book of World Records.
More info as to why the ball is a portal into a New Year’s fairy tale in my short news report here: “Gigantic New Year’s Ball on Manezhnaya Square.”
