Venerated icon of Our Lady of Kazan is one of several holy relics in the Church of St. George (Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos) on Pskov Hill at Varvarka street. In 1930, this icon painted by an unknown artist suffered the difficult fate of being a target for ill-wishers. Ten fired bullets that target the icon, almost all pierced the wooden board through and through, but the faces of the saints did not suffer. The icon began to myrrh in 2003. The icon helps the pilgrims who come to pray with her. In 2005, the Church of St. George the Victorious on Varvarka received this icon as a gift from parishioners who chose to remain anonymous. There are many jewelry, chains, and rings, decorating the icon under the glass cover, donated from people as thanks for her deeds.
