Yuryev-Polsky

Yuryev-Polsky is a small ancient town in the Vladimir region included in the Golden Ring of Russia and located on the way between Suzdal to Perslavl. The town was founded in 1152 by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky as an outpost of the Vladimir-Suzdal princedom. The first part of its name derives from Yury's patron saint, St. George. The second part is derived from the word polsky meaning "in the fields".
