Transfiguration Cathedral
Ornaments of the mosaic floor in Transfiguration cathedral shows a walkway to the entrance from West side to the church. The five-domes cathedral was built on the grounds of St. Euthymius monastery at the end of 16th century. The murals, arranged on its walls in several tires, are devoted to the life of Christ (3 upper tiers) and the acts of the Apostles (the lower tier) and date to the end of 17th century (executed by team of icon-painters from Kostroma led by the eminent masters Gury Nikitin and Sila Savin).
