Under Gilded Church Chandelier in Lavra’s Refectory
Bottom view of the gilded church chandelier hanging under the beautiful ceiling of Refectory decorated with paintings and plaster moldings on a biblical, religious theme. The splendid interior of the refectory of Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Lavra (monastery), covering 510 square meters and also painted in a dazzling checkerboard design, used to be the largest hall in Russia built at the end of 17th century in the "Muscovite Baroque" style on money commissioned from Peter the Great.
