The Dimitrievsky Cathedral (Cathedral of St Dmitry of Rostov) was constructed by Count Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetev in 1794-1802 in the style of classicism. The marvelous facades of cathedral are lavishly decorated with massive columns, sculptures, bas-reliefs and stucco work by Ivan Vogt and G.Zamaraev. Count N.P. Sheremetev was the biggest philanthropist in the history of the monastery and this cathedral is often called Sheremetevsky (Sheremetev’s).
