Festive Hodegetria Church

The attractive church of Virgin Hodegetria was constructed in Muscovite baroque style on the grounds of Rostov Kremlin in 1692-1693 by Metropolitan Iosaf Lazarevich, the successor of Metropolitan Iona Sisoyevich. In present time, the exposition “The Gold and Azure Are Still Shining,” with baroque and rococo relics from the museum's collection, is arranged on the second floor of the church.
