«Annunciation Church Framed By Trees and Flowers»

View from a beautiful garden of St. Nicholas Convent on the Church of Annunciation of Our Lady framed with flowers and trees. The painted with bright yellow and green colors church was built on the grounds of the convent on donations from citizens of Pereslavl, Maxim and Ivan Schelyagins, in 1748 to replace the church of Our Lady of Kazan which was burnt in 1745. At the end of 19th – beginning of 20th century the convent was one of the richest cloisters in the city and it remains one of the well-maintained and prosperous convents in present days.

Photo #455 taken on June 08, 2014 during long-distance countryside tour of the Golden Ring of Russia towns, Pereslavl-Zalessky and Sergiyev Posad, with my Dear client from the USA, Jan Squires.
