Docked Boat in the Mouth of Trubezh River

Docked Boat in the Mouth of Trubezh River
«Docked Boat in the Mouth of Trubezh River»

The beautiful landscape of Pereslavl with a boat docked on a small river Trubezh. On the background is rising above the trees and wooden houses 18th century Church of the Forty Martyrs. It stands where the river flows into the huge Plescheevo lake. No wonder, that this area became popular for local painters.

The stone church was constructed on money of Moscow merchants Ivan and Maxim Schelyagins in 1755 on the site of two dilapidated wooden churches. When I saw this church, I couldn’t miss a chance to stop my car and take the picture here stopped on a very narrow and bumpy road near the river. And what a pleasant surprise was when I found the small boat hidden behind the bushes! :-)

Photo #439 taken on June 08, 2014 during one-day countryside tour to Pereslavl-Zallesky and Sergiyev Posad with my Dear client from USA, Jan Squires.
