«Magnificent Interior of the Home Church of Romanovs in Livadia»

Interior view from the entrance of the Christian Orthodox Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Livadia with bright blue and red colors of the paintings on its vaults and attractively carved marble iconostasis with icons decorated with fresh flowers in the spring season. The church was constructed in 1864-66 by the project of Russian architect Ippolit Monighetti and connected with Livadia Palace, the former residence of Russian Tsars. It became a home church of Romanov family.

The clock with music box “The Temple of Glory” (1793-1806)

“The Temple of Glory” is outstanding work of clock art on display in the Armory Chamber of Moscow Kremlin that you can see at the entrance of Room 2 on the second floor of the museum. The remarkable 2,5 meters high clock in the form of an ancient temple with mechanical organ that could perform 13 different pieces was created in Moscow by prominent English engineer Michael Medox between 1793 and 1806 for Catherine the Great.
