Overview from the top of Mount Mithridat the three-edged 24-meter Obelisk of Glory in the background of a bay of the city-hero located on the eastern Kerch Peninsula of Crimea. The monument was opened on October 8, 1944 and became the first monument dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War in the Soviet Union. It is set in the multi-stage pedestal. The strict, light graystone monument is visible at a distance of 20 km. There are three 76-mm cannons on the pedestal, as if guarding the obelisk.
