The Main Dome of the Resurrection Cathedral in Kubinka
The huge 34-ton gilded dome with a cross of the Main Church of the Russian Armed Forces in Kubinka, sparkling with gold at the height of a 20-storey building (75 meters high). The diameter of the octahedral drum on which the central dome is installed is 1945 cm (19.45 m) - the year of the Great Victory of the USSR over Nazi Germany. And this is symbolic, because of the temple was erected in honor of the 75th anniversary of the victory.
The basis of the structure - the frame of the dome - was created according to the original project from high-alloy steel. It consists of 32 individually manufactured metal parts (profile thickness 10 mm). The top of the dome is finished with sheets (plates) of stainless steel with one-sided titanium nitride sputtering of golden hue. The dome consists of parts with a service life of 300 to 1500 years. The Orthodox cross on the main dome of the cathedral, made in the Russian-Byzantine style, has a diameter of 22 meters 43 centimeters.
