Archangel Michael Pectoral Icon (Suzdal)

The pectoral icon of Archangel Michael is the exhibit on display at the Gold Treasury of St. Euthymius monastery in Suzdal. It consists of two parts made in different times and countries, an oval cameo with an icon in the middle and lavishly decorated silver frame around it. The cameo is a piece of jewelry carved from serpentine in Byzantine and dates to the XIV century. It's a silver frame made using techniques of filigree and engraving and dates from the XVI century.
