Portrait of Princess Maria Vasilievna Vorontsova was painted in 1851, possibly on the occasion of her marriage to Prince S.M.Vorontsov. It depicts one of the most famous aristocratic beauties of the day. The portrait is most impressive, although somewhat cold and sharp in colour.
