«Old Style Street Lights of Patriarchal Bridge Against Twilight Sky»

The line of beautiful old style street lights of Patriarchal bridge with a background of Cathedral of Christ the Savior illuminated at spring twilight with blue sky, before it gets dark. The pedestrian Patriarchy bridge was constructed in 2004 by the project of the architect Posokhin, artist Zurab Tsereteli and Engineers A. Kolchin and O. Chemerinsky. It was decorated with ornate 19th century-style lampposts that provide an excellent view of the bridge at night.

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior is the main church in Moscow and symbol of Orthodoxy. It was opened in 1883, in a memory of Russian victory over Napoleon in 1812. This Cathedral had been under construction for about 40 years (1839-1883), but it was destroyed in one day, on December 5th, 1931 - during the Stalin's time, because communists decided to build "Soviet Palace" for their meetings. The Cathedral was recovered during 1995 - 2000.
