In Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill, in the area adjacent to the church of St. George (in background of the picture), there are three fountains known as "The Joy of Victory". These symbolize the Soviet people’s joy at winning the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. In the bowls are installed special nozzles that give the water jets a wine-glass shape. These jet nozzles also were used for some time in the “Geyser” fountain in Moscow's Manezhnsaya Square. At night, colored lights are switched on, symbolizing a salute to the Great Victory.
