This beautiful reddish-pink gem the size of a chicken egg and weighing 260,86 carats is interesting in many respects. It is a tourmaline of a most unusual color and shape. Specialists believe that this stone may have come from Burma. There are few natural stones that have such wide range of tints as the tourmaline. This tourmaline belongs to the rubellite variety, from the Latin word meaning “reddish”.
