The Old Windmill Behind a Fence in Spring

View from a field with yellow dandelions on the 19th-century windmill (melnitsa) with subsidiary farm structures behind an old fence in the Museum of Wooden Architecture in Istra nearby the New Jerusalem Ressurection Monastery in a nice sunny spring day. In 1980s, the windmill was transported to the museum from the Tver region and restored. It is the so-called “melnitsa-shatrovka” (tent-mill) with an octagonal roof, the tower of which is connected to a granary. The old windmill is often used as a decoration during the filming of historical movies.
